Automated molding lines

Lawton Standard St. Paul’s largest molding line is an Osborne 30 square line. It has mold flasks that measure 30 x 30 x 12 inches deep. The pattern for it is mounted on two separate plates. The top flask is called the cope, and the bottom half is called the drag.

Northern Iron and Machine has also installed a new DISA Match 130 automated molding line. The system, which is now fully operational, doubles the company’s molding capacity. The molding line has a flask size of 20×24. The system utilizes existing match plate patterns, so there are typically no conversion costs or steps from the old system to the new one. The automated line is ideal for low to medium requirements.
